This stripped-back country-folk ode to Jesus shows the Texas singer-songwriter in a fresh, sincere new light while marking his first major-label outing."His Name is Jesus" is one of two bonus tracks (along with "Husbands and Wives") on Cody Johnson's seventh album Ain't Nothin' to It, his first for Warner Music Nashville, which was released in 2019 and went to number one on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. The LP, which featured banjo, mandolin, and fiddle and background vocals from none other than Alison Krauss, also reached number nine on the US Billboard 200.
