The story of the vocal jazz and lounge classic "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" dates back to 1947 when Cuban singer-songwriter Osvaldo Farrés wrote the music and lyrics for a song titled "Quizás, Quizás, Quizás." A romantic tale about a man who repeatedly confesses his love to a hesitant partner, the song was translated into English by American producer Joe Davis and recorded by Cuban-American singer and actor Desi Arnaz. Over the course of the next few decades, "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" became a ubiquitous hit in English-speaking countries, receiving the cover treatment by a whole host of musical artists from all genres, including Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and Ben E. King. "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" was further popularized by American actress Doris Day, who included it in her Latin-flavored album Latin for Lovers in 1965. More recently, Brazilian actor Daniel Boaventura teamed up with Mexican singer Carlos Rivera for an electrifying live performance of "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps," featured in his 2015 album Your Song - Ao Vivo.
