After working together on the massive hit that was their 2018 single “One Kiss,” Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris once again joined forces with English singer Dua Lipa for a new collaboration. The ensuing track, the 2022 single “Potion", also includes a participation by American rapper Young Thug. The song is the first single from Calvin Harris’s sixth studio album Funk Wav Bounces Volume 2 (2022). Musically, it brings together elements of pop, funk, EDM, and Ibiza-tinged dance music. Lyrically, it explores the idea of a “potion” for love and the different elements that can be brought together to create it. The song was written by Dua Lipa, Adam Wiles, Jessie Reyez, Maneesh Bidaye, and Jeffery Williams. It was produced by Calvin Harris. “Potion” made it to Number 23 on the US Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart, as well as Number 16 on the UK Singles chart. It was also a Top 10 hit in countries like Ireland and Croatia.
