Cigarette Daydreams - Cage the Elephant - MP3 instrumental karaoke

"Cigarette Daydreams" is a song by American alternative rock band Cage The Elephant, included in their third studio album Melophobia (2014). Inspired by a personal experience, the song was written by lead singer Matt Shultz with the rest of his bandmates Lincoln Parish, Brad Shultz, Daniel Tichenor, and Jared Champion. Softer in tone than their previous material, "Cigarette Daydreams" found the band trying to write from a place of painful honesty, reflecting on past relationships and the constant search for inner peace. It was produced by Jay Joyce and released as the third single from Melophobia in August 2014. Shortly after its commercial release, "Cigarette Daydreams" reached Number 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, becoming the album's second chart-topper after the single "Come a Little Closer." An accompanying video directed by Mark Pellington was released in September of that year, starring Matt Shultz's ex-wife, actress Juliette Buchs.
