Two titans of 21st-century pop go head-to-head in this dreamy 'n' synthy pop-rock stargazer from September 2021. "In the night, I lie and look up at you / When the morning comes, I watch you rise / There's a paradise they couldn't capture / That bright infinity inside your eyes," sings Coldplay's Chris Martin in the first verse, before the artists come together in the chorus: "You (You), you are (You are) my universe / And I (I) just want (Just want) to put you first / And you (You), you are (You are) my universe / And you make my world light up inside." Penned by Coldplay alongside BTS's rappers, "My Universe" was originally intended solely for the South Korean boyband but Coldplay decided to jump in and share some of the spotlight, with the UK band releasing the track as the second promotional single from their ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres. The collaboration proved fruitful; "My Universe" shot to Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went to Number 3 in the UK.
