"I'd Die for You" is a song by the rock band Bon Jovi from their third album Slippery When Wet. The 1986 album features several of the band's biggest hits including "Livin' on a Prayer," “You Give Love a Bad Name," and "Wanted Dead or Alive." The band's first two albums failed to get them much airplay so with the third, they made some deliberate changes. They brought in hit songwriter Desmond Child, wrote over 30 songs, played the songs for NJ teenagers, and chose the songs and running order based on those opinions. "I'd Die for You" was written by Jon Bon Jovi, guitarist Richie Sambora, and Desmond Child. Lyrically, it's a song of devotion sung over Sambora's heavy guitar riffs and a pulsating keyboard pattern played by David Bryan.
