The title track of Blink-182's ninth studio album One More Time... bears the weight of some of the album's heavy-hearted themes: ageing, mortality, reconnection, reunion—and a dose of relationship trouble thrown in for good measure. The track opens with a reference to co-founder Tom DeLonge's 2005 band exit, having left Blink-182 to return ten years later and mend bridges. "Strangers, from strangers into brothers / From brothers into strangers once again / We saw the whole world, but I couldn't see," he begins on a melancholy song that addresses Mark Hoppus' recent battle with blood cancer—from which he was declared the all-clear in 2022—and Travis Barker’s plane crash in 2008, which tragically left four people dead following an emergency suffered during takeoff. Released in 2023, One More Time... was Blink-182's first album as a trio since 2011’s Neighborhoods and gave the group their third chart-topping album on the US Billboard 200.
