It’s hard to think of a recent artist who’s had a more auspicious start to her career than American singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, who burst into the scene at the tender age of 15 with a viral Soundcloud hit and quickly went on to become one of the most famous names in pop. Renowned for her hushed vocal style and dark aesthetic, it didn’t take long for this Gen Z pop star to be offered the opportunity of a lifetime: to perform a James Bond theme song. No Time To Die is her contribution to the Bond film of the same name, and it was written by Billie Eilish along with her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas O’Connell. Finneas O’Connell also co-produced the song along with Stephen Lipson, and it features guitars by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr as well as an orchestral arrangement by Hans Zimmer. Like much of Billie Eilish’s work, the song is dark, emotional, and mysterious, and it displays a wider vocal range than the singer is known for.
