Puerto Rican rapper and reggaeton musician Bad Bunny took a bold step with the release of his fourth solo studio album Un Verano Sin Ti (2022). A concept album spanning an impressive number of genres (reggaeton, pop, cumbia, merengue, and more), the album tracks a protagonist’s journey through a breakup due to his infidelity, and the feelings of regret that come along with it. Lead single “Moscow Mule” (named after the famous cocktail of the same name) is a reggaeton song with lyrics about partying in the summer. Though primarily a reggaeton song, there are moments that recall psychedelic pop. The song also samples the Russian pop dance song “Pesenka” by Ruki Vverh! “Moscow Mule” was a huge success for Bad Bunny, hitting Number 1 on charts throughout Latin American countries such as Mexico, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. In the US, the song made it to Number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and Number 1 on the US Hot Latin Songs chart.
