Since launching her career in 2016 with "Krokodil," rapper and psychedelic pop provocateur Ashnikko has enjoyed a glittering string of achievements including a co-write with Doja Cat in "Boss Bitch" and a collaborative track with Grimes, ("Cry") whose video was nominated for Best Pop Video - UK at the 2020 UK Music Video Awards. Boosted by clever and catchy lyrical wordplay ("You don't wanna see me bratty / Pet the kitty, call me catty / Make your man call me Daddy / He talk too much, he's too chatty (Yeah cool,)" the pop-trap bop "Daisy" dropped in July 2020 as the second single from Ashnikko's debut mixtape Demidevil. The song sets up Ashnikko's 'Daisy' alter-ego ("I'm crazy, but you like that, I bite back / Daisies on your nightstand, never forget it / Blossom in the moonlight, screw eyes / Glacial with the blue ice, I'm terrifying."); a rapist-killing vigilante who likes to leave the titular flower as her calling card.
