Arriving with a fanfare more than worthy of an old Hollywood movie, "The Exodus Song (This Land Is Mine)" is an orchestral epic rooted in a sense of patriotism ("This land is mine / God gave this land to me / This brave and ancient land to me / And when the morning sun"). The song functioned as the centrepiece and main theme to Otto Preminger's 1960 US historical drama blockbuster historical about the founding of the State of Israel, Exodus. "The Exodus Song (This Land Is Mine)" was written by Charles E Pat Boone, Ernest Gold, and Andy Williams and included on the latter's anthem-packed ninth studio album Moon River and Other Great Movie Themes, which also boasted filmic favourites in "Tender is the Night," "Moon River," and "Maria" from West Side Story. The Exodus theme has also been covered by the likes of Bob Marley and American pianists Ferrante & Teicher, with the latter instrumental version reaching number one in New Zealand.
