Alan Jackson wrote 15 of the 21 songs on his long-awaited album, 2021's Where Did You Go.The country music superstar has written many of his hits through the years. He also knows the value of a great song and has recorded many songs by some of the top writers in Nashville. Three of the songs on Where Did You Go were written by a talented, twice Grammy nominated writer who happens to be Jackson's nephew, Adam Wright. "The Boot" is a story-song about a guy who ends up in a bar after a big fight with his woman. Sung from the perspective of someone who's been in that situation, Jackson offers some advice to the young man. "Well, he told me it was complicated and I just shook my head / I said, "You wanna see hard, try livin' in bars your whole life tryin' to forget.” The young man decides to return home to try to mend the relationship.
