"Can I sit next to you girl, can I sit next to you girl?" ask AC/DC on the debut single that launched the hard-living hard rockers' prolific, notorious and long-lasting career. Built on the bedrock of the Australian band's NSFW-themed belters that have courted controversy throughout their career, on "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" they sprinkle a pinch of glam over a rock 'n' roller which was penned by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, with vocals initially submitted by glam rock diehard Dave Evans until the infamous Bon Scott took over in 1975 and Dave Evans joined the more suitable glam rock troupe Rabbit. The reworked version of "Can I Sit Next to You Girl" reached Number 50 in Australia and was featured on AC/DC's Australia-only album T.N.T., which was released in December 1975, and later as the sixth track on the international version of High Voltage, which was released in May 1976.
