"You're the meanest woman I've ever known / Sticks and stones won't break my bones", declares late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott in his typically risqué manner on 1979's "Beating Around the Bush", adding a dash of double-entendre to a common rhyme and childhood chant. The fast-paced, hard-hitting hard rock showstopper was featured on the Robert "Mutt" Lange-produced, lust-filled Highway to Hell, AC/DC's fifth studio album released internationally and the sixth to be released in Australia. It was the final album featuring Bon Scott, who tragically died on February 19, 1980 of acute alcohol poisoning. On "Beating Around the Bush", Bon Scott shrieks and shouts about a lover while lightning-quick guitars and urgent, foot-stomping drums explode in the background. "And you can throw me lefts / And you can throw me rights / But where was you last night? / Beatin' around the bush". A cheeky song from one of rock music's most iconic and notorious bands.
