Kiss

A Kiss comic, portraying Gene Simmons and the other members of the rock band as superheroes, was released in 1977. Published as part of the Marvel Comics Super Special featuring well known artists (a Beatles edition exists too), the very first was actually inked with the blood of the rocking foursome.

Frank Sinatra

Thought to be a stillborn, doctors placed jazz legend, Frank Sinatra on a table on December 12, 1915 in favor of attending to his mother. It wasn’t until his grandmother reanimated the Sultan of Swoon with a bucket of water that he wailed his first tune. Read more about him.

Despite his signature curse word bombs throughout his songs, this internationally best-selling singer admitted in an interview that he doesn’t allow cussing at home.

Janis Joplin

Known for her strong personality, heavy drinking and her distinctive voice, it’s reported that during one (of apparently several) advances from The Doors's lead singer Jim Morrison, she smashed a bottle of whiskey over his head, knocking him out cold.

Ed Sheeran

His success today may be due to his talent and catchy tunes, but Ed Sheeran worked his way to the top of the charts. In 2009, after moving to London, he played over 300 concerts all while attending the Academy of Contemporary Music.
