5 papas that rock

In celebration of fathers everywhere, we’ve selected five extraordinary rockin' papas that have contributed not only to home life, but also to the world of music.

Elvis Presley

Lisa Marie Presley was just nine when her father passed away at the age of 42 from a heart attack. "The King of Rock and Roll" left a legacy of a whopping 18 number-one hits and 40 top-tens. In memory of her father, Lisa Marie, who's been said to remember her father singing her lullabies, recorded a duet in 2007 with a posthumous contribution from her father to his hit In The Ghetto.

Bob Marley

Many celebrity singer’s have gone on to father budding artists themselves (Bob and Jakob Dylan, Julio and Enrique Iglesias, Frank and Nancy Sinatra). It’s all in the family though for the Jamaican-born singer-songwriter. Father of 11 children, Ziggy, Stephen, Rohan, Julian and Damian have all followed in their father's footsteps, pursuing music careers of their own.

Serge Gainsbourg

Controversial may best describe the Famous French artist's 1984 hit Lemon Incest, written for his daughter, French actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg. A message of what the singer-songwriter called as "pure love," the song stayed on the French charts for 18 weeks but not without raising a few eyebrows. Read more about Gainsbourg in this article.

Ozzy Osbourne

More than just a hard rocking, bat-biting, heavy-metal loving singer, Ozzy Osbourne, known for his role as lead singer of Black Sabbath and their hit Crazy Train, surprised the public with a softer side during his reality TV show following his family's (including his rocker daughter, Kelly) daily activities. The 68 year-old took his last bow alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates, ending a 40+ year career.

Mick Jagger

A recent papa at the age of 73, The Rolling Stones frontman, has proven age is just a number. Despite welcoming his latest in 2017, the father of eight, grandfather and great-grandfather of one, will tour Europe in the fall of 2017.
