"Classico" is a song by American comedy rock band Tenacious D, included in their second studio album The Pick of Destiny. Recorded as a companion piece for the musical comedy of the same name, The Pick of Destiny was officially released as the film's soundtrack in November 2006 and featured stellar appearances by Meat Loaf, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ronnie James Dio, and Dave Grohl. Shortly after its commercial release, The Pick of Destiny climbed to the top of the US Top Rock Albums chart and peaked at Number 8 on the Billboard 200. It also charted in the United Kingdom, where it reached Number 10 on the Official UK Albums Chart. "Classico," the first song Jack Black and Kyle Gass play together in the film, is a combination of pieces by 17th and 18th-century composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, with Black's ad-lib lyrics sung on top. An accompanying video by John Kricfalusi's Spümcø animation studio, who had previously worked with Tenacious D on the video for "Fuck Her Gently," premiered in November 2006.
