Satirical hair metal group Steel Panther have constructed a narrative around not quite making it in the '80s. With singer Ralph Saenz ("Michael Starr"), drummer Darren Leader ("Stix Zadinia"), bassist Travis Haley ("Lexxi Foxxx"), and guitarist Russ Parrish ("Satchel") in tow, the band's schtick is tongue-in-cheek humour and enough profanity to fill a club on the Sunset Strip. The 'fake' band signed to Universal Republic in 2008 and, after dropping an initial run of singles that included "Death for All But Metal," unleashed their full-length Feel the Steel on an unsuspecting world in October 2009. "Stripper Girl" sits as the ninth track on the album and embodies their satirical metal tendencies on a fictional song about the titular protagonist: "I met you down at the Seventh Veil / The first night that I got out of jail / Your lips were red and your skin was pale / You were the one that I wanted to nail, yeah," so the story goes.
