Nothing brings on the joy of the holiday season quite like a festive tune. In 1998, global boy band favourites NSYNC sprinkled a little Christmas cheer with their first Christmas album and second studio LP, Home for Christmas, featuring this R&B and gospel-friendly fancy, "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays." It was the only US single from Home for Christmas, and was also released as a single in Germany (the group also released a German seasonal compilation, The Winter Album, that year). On the track, they run through the things that make Christmas pop, from glistening snow and stockings hung by the fireside to waiting patiently for Santa to arrive. The feel-good message ends on a seasonally cheery note, as the group thing about "celebrating the special times we share... happiness 'cause love is in the air". Home for Christmas went on to become one of the biggest-selling holiday albums in the US.
