Montgomery, Alabama-born Nat King Cole is an unforgettable, influential star who was one of America's first Black TV hosts and a prolific pop hitmaker who passed away from cancer aged 45 on February 15, 1965, leaving a trailblazing legacy. In this mutual love-in from 1951 ("That's why, darling, it's incredible / That someone so unforgettable / Thinks that I am / Unforgettable, too"), Nat King Cole ultimately crooned his way into the Grammy Hall of Fame, with the original recording inducted in 2000. Written by Irving Gordon, Nat King Cole recorded his version of the song with an arrangement from orchestra leader and arranger Nelson Riddle in 1951 and featured the track on his 1952 album Unforgettable. The hit enjoyed a rebirth in 1991 when it soared to Number 14 in the US and Number 19 in the UK, thanks to a new duet rendition featuring vocals from Nat King Cole's daughter Natalie Cole.
