Gorillaz rallied the talents of none other than Neneh Cherry for this thought-provoking track and slice of socio-political commentary from their critically acclaimed album Demon Days. Damon Albarn was inspired to write "Kids with Guns" following a real-life experience when a boy in his daughter’s class at school was found with a knife. "Now they're turning us into monsters / Turning us into fire / Turning us into monsters / It's all desire, it's all desire, it's all desire," comments 2D in the chorus. "Kids with Guns" was released as the fourth and final single from Demon Days, which yielded some of Gorillaz's most memorable tracks to date including "Feel Good Inc.", "Dare," "Dirty Harry," and "El Mañana". Released in 2005, Demon Days charted in the top 10 in 22 countries, going to number six in the UK and the US. The album also features contributions from De La Soul, Shaun Ryder and others.
