Union City's country-rock romantics Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show decked themselves out in denim and took the '70s by storm, injecting their chart-bothering brand of charm-schooled soft-rock with a country twang while making forays into a smoother soul-meets-disco sound, best exemplified "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman," a UK chart-topper in 1979 and one of their most memorable hits. Taking a more novelty approach to songwriting, "You Make My Pants Want to Get Up and Dance" is a irreverent slice of buoyant, piano-spiked boogie that shows the band in their cheeky element. The track was included on Pleasure and Pain, the seventh album from Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show, which spawned two US top 10 hits in the aforementioned "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman," and that infamous ode to the one-night stand, "Sharing the Night Together" (which also went to number 43 in the UK in 1980).
