Schlager star DJ Ötzi has been flying the flag for Austrian pop since the late 1990s, having first found his footing in the German-speaking countries before establishing his voice on the English-speaking market with his 2000 single "Hey Baby (Uhh, Ahh)," a cover of the Bruce Channel song "Hey! Baby." He spent the next decade tightening his grip on the Austrian schlager scene. In 2012, he forged a transatlantic partnership with American country-pop duo The Bellamy Brothers for the collaborative album Simply the Best, pulling out all the stops for the LP's centrepiece "Let Your Love Flow," a refresh of The Bellamy Brothers' 1976 debut single and international hit, which went to number one in the US and Germany at the time. DJ Ötzi joined forces with The Bellamy Brothers for a new version of the song that stays faithful to the original blueprint but at the same time brings it into the 21st century with modern recording techniques.
