"Sing Me Away" is a song from the rock band Night Ranger. It appears on their 1982 debut album Dawn Patrol. The first printings of the album list the band as Ranger but after it was discovered that a country band was already using that name, they added Night to their name. "Sing Me Away" reached the Top 40 on Billboard's Rock Tracks. The lyrics are about reminiscing about someone in your past. "Sometimes I sit and I dream on for hours / Sometimes my hours they turn into days / I dream of a girl I once knew as a schoolboy / She was the one who could sing me away." Night Ranger's biggest hit, the ballad "Sister Christian" had already been written but the guys left it off their debut because they were afraid they might lose some of their hard rock credibility. Luckily, they included it on their next album.
