Forming in San Francisco in 1979, Night Ranger scored their signature hit – the power ballad favourite, "Sister Christian" – in 1984, cracking the Top 10 in the US and Canada. They took another string of singles into the top 40 during the '80s, including "Don't Tell Me You Love Me," "When You Close Your Eyes," "Four in the Morning (I Can't Take Any More)," "Goodbye" and this searing 1985 ballad, "Sentimental Street." They even recorded the theme song for Michael J. Fox's comedy The Secret of My Success in 1987. Written by the band's bassist Jack Blades, with drummer and "Sister Christian" singer Kelly Keagy delivering the scorching vocal, "Sentimental Street" was featured on Night Ranger's third studio album, 7 Wishes (1985), and boasted all ingredients of an '80s rock triumph, complete with hair-raising guitar solo, and as well as reaching number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, became a staple of pop radio.
