"The Greatest Love of All" is a song written by composer Michael Masser and lyricist Linda Creed for the 1977 movie The Greatest, a biopic of boxer Muhammad Ali. The first recording of the song was featured in the film's soundtrack and was sung by American singer and jazz guitarist George Benson, whose version reached Number 2 on the US Hot Soul Singles chart later that year. However, it was singer and actress Whitney Houston who further popularized the song by including it in her 1985 self-titled studio debut under the title "Greatest Love of All."
