"Darling, let's turn back the years / And go back to yesterday / Let's pretend that time has stopped / And I didn't go away," reflects Waylon Jennings on "Let's Turn Back the Years," one of the gushier tracks on his romantically inclined 22nd studio album Dreaming My Dreams. The song was originally written and recorded by the legendary Hank Williams in 1952. Elsewhere on the album, Waylon Jennings pays tribute to his personal hero on "You Sure Hank Done It This Way" opens while the "King of Western Swing" Bob Wills also gets a shout-out on "Bob Wills Is Still the King." Dreaming My Dreams was released at the height of Waylon Jennings' outlaw country reign in the mid-1970s and followed in the wake of success stories Honky Tonk Heroes (1973) and This Time (1974). The album was co-produced with Jack Clement and ascended to the top of the country albums chart while also reaching number 49 on Billboard's Top LPs & Tapes in 1975.
