Édith Piaf released the definitive version of "La Vie En Rose" in 1947 with the unlikely pairing of Tony Bennett and KD Lang putting their heads together to record this winning take in 2002. Joined by hotshot producer T. Bone Burnett, the trio took the showstopping love song to new heights of laidback cool. This two-pronged version was included on the pair's full-length duet album, A Wonderful World, which was awarded the Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. With lyrics penned by Édith Piaf, and a melody composed by Marguerite Monnot and Louis Guglielmi, aka Louiguy, the iconic song soundtracked a hopeful point in history following the end of World War II. "La vie en Rose" has been covered over the years by a whole range of major-league artists, including Céline Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Martin, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, and of course, the one and only Grace Jones, who snagged a world-famous hit in 1977.
