Latin R&B trailblazers Tierra scored a platinum-selling hit with their super-smooth, harmony-rich rendition of "Together," a cover of the 1967 song by US soul group The Intruders. "Together" made it to Number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, Number 30 on the Adult Contemporary chart and Number 9 on the US Billboard R&B chart and raised the profile of the sprawling LA-born band who was first formed by El Chicano members Steve Salas (vocals) and his brother Rudy Salas (guitar) in the 1970s.
