"I Want a Love I Can See" is an early song by The Temptations. While the vocal group is known for its chart-topping Motown hits including, "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," "My Girl," and "The Way You Do the Things You Do," they had a slow start to success. They released so many flops that some at the label were calling them "The Hitless Temptations." In 1963, Smokey Robinson was brought in to work with them on "I Want a Love I Can See." Things started looking up for the group. Although the song didn't become a national hit, it was a regional smash that became very popular song in their live shows. The Temptations became Motown's first act to win a Grammy for "Cloud Nine" in 1969. They were awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
The backing track for "I Want a Love I Can See" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
