"Going Back to Cali" is a song by The Notorious B.I.G. born Christopher George Latore Wallace. The rapper is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. He started making mixtapes and signed his first record deal in 1993. Biggie's unique laid-back rap style, larger-than-life personality, and raw, personal lyrics made him stand out from the crowd. "Going Back to Cali" is classic Biggie from the opening "When the la-la hits ya lyrics just splits ya / Head so hard, that your hat can't fit you" to his streetwise bravado "Wit the game tight, Bic that flame right / Spell my name right, B I, double G, I E." The song uses a sample from "More Bounce to the Ounce" from the funk band Zapp. Sadly, the song is from his second and final studio album Life After Death. Biggie died in a drive-by shooting after attending a Soul Train Music Awards party. There are many theories but no one has been charged with the crime. He was 24.
The backing track for "Going Back to Cali" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
