"Jack's Lament" is a song from the soundtrack of the 1993 stop-motion animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Centered around the figure of Jack Skellington, the leader of Halloween Town, the film's main premise follows the main character and his obsession with introducing Christmas to his fellow residents. Just like the rest of the music in the film, the track was written by American composer Danny Elfman, who had previously gained recognition through his work with the new wave band Oingo Boingo in the early 1980s.
