The title of "S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)" may sound threatening, but it's a rousing anthemic packaged as a heavy dose of pop realism about the sorry state of the world. The Canadian rock group delighted fans with a video for “S.O.S. (Sawed Off Shotgun)” that brought the singalong chorus (“Yeah, they sent the taxman / I lost my job, and / You got hooked on oxycodone / They shut the lights off / They took the car, and / I bought a sawed off shotgun…”) into the communal setting it deserves. “I think the reason this song is connecting and resonating with people is because it’s about real issues that we all face, it’s a sign of the times,” singer Brett Emmons said of the song, which was featured on the band’s Juno award-winning 2017 album, Young Beauties and Fools.
