Stone Sour give the letters of the alphabet some love in this 2007 piano ballad from their second studio album Come What(ever) May. Written by Slipknot's Corey Taylor – who penned the entire LP – "Zzyzx Rd." will leave you breathless in its exploration of vulnerability. Corey Taylor wrote the song as a thank you to his wife for her emotional support and on this somber post-grunge confessional, the singer and songwriter opens up about his struggles with depression and alcoholism. "I'm over existing in limbo / I'm over the myths and placebos / I don't really mind if I just fade away / I'm ready to live with my family / I'm ready to die in obscurity / 'Cause I'm so tired that I got to go," he sings, his voice dripping with pain. Come What(ever) May was later certified platinum in the United States – the band's first album to achieve platinum status – and the single "30/30-150" was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 49th Grammy Awards.
