Smokey Robinson has had a career few could imagine. He and his band, the Miracles, were one of the first acts signed to Motown Records. Their first hit single, "Shop Around,” became the label's first million-seller. He wrote and produced dozens of chart-topping hits for other artists, including The Way You Do the Things You Do and My Girl for the Temptations, My Guyfor Mary Wells, and Ain’t That Peculiar for Marvin Gaye. Robinson was promoted to Motown Vice President but soon realized his desire to record his own music was too strong to ignore. He released Quiet Storm in 1975. The song not only reenergized his recording career, but the slow romantic vibe of the recording spawned what became known as the popular late-night “quiet stormradio format.
The backing track for Quiet Storm is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
