Country supergroup Pistol Annies burst into the scene in 2011 with their studio debut Hell on Heels, which went straight to Number 1 of Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. Led by Miranda Lambert, who finished up third in the singing competition Nashville Star, Pistol Annies went on to become one of the most successful country music acts in the United States with commercially acclaimed titles such as Annie Up (2013) and Interstate Gospel (2018). In 2021, the trio celebrated its tenth anniversary by indulging in the holiday spirit with the full-length Hell of a Holiday, a Christmas album that broke into the Top 10 of the US country charts and featured three cover versions plus ten original songs.
