Originally released on May 24, 1968, the Rolling Stones classic "Jumpin' Jack Flash" was hailed as a return to form after the band's psychedelic experiments on the albums Aftermath (1966), Between the Buttons (1967), and Their Satanic Majesties Request (1967). Written by the Jagger/Richards creative tandem, the original version is a bluesy rock and roll stomper about the need to move away from the lysergic haze of the early 1960s. In the decades that followed its release, the song has been covered multiple times by artists like Thelma Houston, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Peter Frampton, who included an extended reworking of the track on his 1972 studio debut, Wind of Change. Clocking in at 5' 20", Peter Frampton's version puts a groovy spin on the Jagger/Richards original and adds numerous layers of instruments, as well as some guitar pyrotechnics towards the end. An even longer version can also be found on the 1976 iconic live album Frampton Comes Alive!
