Five-piece country troupe Old Dominion are far from being a one-man band, but on their stripped-back 2019 track – released as the second single from their self-titled third studio album – they cleverly equate the concept with the idea of living the single life rather than settling down. "I don't wanna be a one-man band / I don't wanna be a rolling stone, alone / Puttin' miles on a run-down van / Baby, we can take our own show on the road / I'll lay down the beat, you'll carry the tune / We'll get tattoos, and we'll trash hotel rooms", declares the band's singer, Matthew Ramsey, over an understated groove. Written by Josh Osborne with Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi, "One Man Band" swooped in and took the Number 1 spot on Billboard's Country Airplay on chart in December 2019 and was also certified Gold by the RIAA in September that year.
