"Quand on arrive en ville" is a track from the Canadian-French cyberpunk rock opera Starmania, penned by lyricist Luc Plamondon and composer Michel Berger in 1978. Set in the city of Monopolis, the capital of the unified Western World, the story follows the adventures of the Black Stars, a gang of outlaws led by Johnny Rockfort and Sadia, and their efforts to overthrow the dystopian regime of billionaire Zéro Janvier. "Quand on arrive en ville" is the opera's first proper song, playing right after the overture. Its lyrics are sung by Johnny Rockfort and Sadia, who fantasize about people's reactions when the outcasts take over the city. In the original version, "Quand on arrive en ville" is performed by Daniel Balavoine as Johnny Rockfort and Nanette Workman in the role of Sadia. Though mostly associated with Starmania, the track was regularly performed by Daniel Balavoine during his live shows and was covered by the cast of the musical Mozart, l'opéra rock in the 2010s.
