Popular Canadian-Italian crooner Michael Bublé made his major-label debut with his 2003 self-titled album, which served as an introduction to the singer’s brand of easy-listening reimaginings of standards. The album was produced by David Foster and Humberto Gatica. Along with songbook classics such as “Fever,” “Come Fly With Me” and “The Way You Look Tonight,” the album also included a selection of covers from different eras of popular music. One of these was “Moondance,” the title track from Van Morrison's classic 1970 album. Michael Bublé’s version brings the song closer in tone to the singer’s big-band style, making it sound like it could’ve been a jazz standard in the 1940s. The album was a smashing success, peaking at Number 8 on the Canadian Albums Chart and achieving double-platinum certification. The album also earned Michael Bublé the award for Best New Talent at the Juno Awards.
