Christian artist Lauren Daigle was ten days into her world tour when the Covid pandemic hit. She had recently taken home the Grammy for her Look Up Child album which contained the quadruple-platinum selling crossover smash “You Say”. She originally thought they’d take a few weeks off but as the months passed, “Hold on to Me”, a song she had started writing in 2019, took on a new meaning. It evolved to reflect the hardships people had been experiencing around the world because of the pandemic. She released the song on February 25, 2021 and posted to her social media, “I hope this song reminds you there’s still good in the world.
