Kristin Chenoweth knows 'a lovely way to spend Christmas' on "The Christmas Waltz," cracking open the most Christmassy, snow-filled scene imaginable from the opening verse: "Frosted window panes, candles gleaming inside / Painted candy canes on the tree / Santa's on his way, he's filled his sleigh / With things, things for you and for me." Featured on the 2008 album A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas from the Tony Award-winning actress and singer, who has put her name to musical theatre, film, and television, "The Christmas Waltz" was originally written by Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne for Frank Sinatra – who first recorded it in 1954 as the B-side of a new recording of "White Christmas" – and has been taken on by numerous legendary artists over the years, including Peggy Lee, Bing Crosby, The Carpenters, Tony Bennett, Barry Manilow and Susan Boyle, with the latter recording her version for her 2013 album Home for Christmas.
