American singer-songwriter Koe Wetzel emerged into the country scene in the 2010s with his whiskey-soaked blend of outlaw country, hip-hop, and grunge music—a style he usually refers to as "Hillbillly Punk Rock." After making an auspicious debut in 2015 with Out on Parole (credited to Koe Wetzel and Konvicts), the Texas native went all out on his second studio effort Noise Complaint (2016), considered by many as his breakout album. The LP contained some of his most popular songs, including "Something to Talk About," the Parker McCollum collaborative track "Love," and "February 28, 2016." Written by Koe Wetzel and produced by Taylor Kimball, the latter was inspired by an incident in which the singer was arrested for public intoxication in his hometown of Stephenville, Texas, on that same date. Due to licensing issues, the track was briefly removed from streaming services but was later reinstated thanks to the insistence of his fans.
