"Dancing in the Moonlight" is a classic pop-rock song written by Sherman Kelly and first recorded by his band Boffalongo in 1970. But it wasn't until King Harvest, a Paris-based band led by Sherman Kelly's brother Wells Kelly and former Boffalongo member Dave "Doc" Robinson, released their rendition in 1972 that the song soared to popularity. Though the song features a cheerful sound and pleasingly laid-back music, it originated from a tragic incident: songwriter Sherman Kelly's violent encounter with a gang led to him writing the song as an embodiment of a peaceful, joyful celebration of life. King Harvest's version was distinguished by its catchy keyboard riff, a blues-influenced guitar solo, and an inviting chorus seemingly designed for crowd sing-alongs. Its slight changes in percussion marked the song's overall arc. The King Harvest version of "Dancing in the Moonlight" was produced by Jack Robinson. It was a huge hit for the band, reaching Number 5 in Canada and Number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Dancing in the Moonlight" has since been covered numerous times, with Toploader's 2000 cover achieving multi-platinum status in the UK and Swedish EDM duo Jubël's 2018 rendition becoming a European hit.

The lead guitar is too loud, otherwise it's a great track it just needs a remix in my opinion.
