"Encore" is a song by French singer Kendji Jason Maillié, better known as Kendji Girac, in collaboration with famed singer-songwriter Florent Pagny. It marks the first collaborative effort between the The Voice: la plus belle voix winner and the author of the 1987 hit single "N'importe quoi," who also served as a judge in the competition. It was included in his fifth studio album L'École de la Vie, released on November 11, 2022, by K7G and Island Def Jam. Released as the album's fourth single on February 15, 2023, the track was penned by the album's producer Renaud Rebillaud, formerly a member of the punk rock band M-Sixteen, alongside singer-songwriter Vianney. Driven forward by a gentle guitar melody, "Encore" is a heartfelt acoustic ballad, enhanced by subtle string arrangements and minimal percussion. Its touching lyrics address the ever-present need of reconnecting with our inner child to find hope in an increasingly hostile world.
