"Metal Gods"is a song by the English heavy metal band Judas Priest. It was written by singer Rob Halford with guitarists K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton. Halford had been reading a lot of sci-fi at the time and the lyrics are about robots rising up and destroying mankind. "Hiding underground / Knowing we'd be found / Fearing for our lives / Reaped by robot's scythes." The band recorded "Metal Gods" at the Tittenhurst Park estate in England owned by Ringo Starr. They shook trays of Ringo's knives and forks to create the sound effects of attacking robots."Metal God" became Halford's nickname for his years of recording and performing heavy metal music even when it wasn't popular. He had the name trademarked in 2009.
