"Year 3000" is a song by English pop-rock band Busted, released as the second single from their 2002 eponymous studio debut. Inspired by both the Back to the Future film series and Robbie Williams' 1998 hit "Millennium," the track was written by James Bourne, Charlie Simpson, Steve Robson, and Matt Willis. Shortly after its release as a commercial single in 2003, "Year 3000" climbed to Number 2 on the Official UK Singles Chart and reached the Top 10 in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2006, American teen pop group Jonas Brothers recorded a cover of "Year 3000," simplifying some of the song's sexually suggestive lyrics to better fit their pre-teen fanbase. The Jonas Brothers' version debuted at Number 40 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming both their first charting effort and their first Top 40 hit. An accompanying video directed by Andrew Bennett was premiered on Disney Channel in early 2007.
