"Adore You" is the second single released from Harry Styles' album Fine Line. The '80s inspired mid-tempo song was written by the English singer with Tyler Johnson, Kid Harpoon, and Amy Allen. Styles described the song as being about that initial infatuation stage, that blissful, joyous connection with someone. Musically, the track blends a pulsating bass with swirling, lush harmonies. Styles immersed himself in the music of David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Van Morrison, and Joni Mitchell while creating the album. He was specifically inspired by the instrumentation and songs from Mitchell's 1971 Blue album. He tracked down the woman who built the dulcimer used on it and requested lessons.
