Throughout recent musical history, countless aspiring singer-songwriters moved to Nashville with the hopes of making it in the music business. Such was the case of Texas native Taylor Gayle Rutherfurd, aka Gayle, who relocated to the Music City in order to pursue a career as a full-time recording artist. After being discovered by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Gayle landed a record deal with Atlantic Records and made her official major-label debut with the single "ABCDEFU" in 2021. With the help of social media, the track reached Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in the UK, Germany, and Sweden. Based on a personal experience, follow-up single "Ur Just Horny" (2022) told the story of a platonic friendship gone awry after a sexual encounter. Decidedly more rock-oriented than her previous single, the track was also included in Gayle's first EP A Study of the Human Experience Volume One.
