"Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" is one of the world's most popular Christmas songs. It was written by J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie. This backing track is for Frank Sinatra's version which he recorded in 1948. The earliest known recording was by banjoist Harry Reser and his band in 1934. Sinatra's swingin' big band recording is pure Sinatra, full of that vocal swagger he's famous for. He can somehow make singing about Santa cool. And he puts up a convincing argument against crying, pouting, or being naughty around Christmas. Jersey rocker Bruce Springsteen began playing "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" early in his career. His live version has become a holiday favorite on rock radio. The song has been covered by hundreds of artists, including Justin Beiber, Michael Bublé, Bing Crosby, The Jackson 5, and Andrea Bocelli.
